Music curator for the biggest Madrid City Council’s music festival


Veranos de la Villa is an open-air festival organized by the Madrid city council for more than 30 years. In the political and cultural context of the city, it is a relevant fact that a cultural project is maintained for so many years in a row. It is therefore a festival loved and respected by citizens, who come en masse to discover new and well-known artists.

I was commissioned in 2015 to rethink the form and content with which the festival was programmed, to update it in musical styles and open it to new audiences, always respecting the most loyal and traditional audiences. In this way, zarzuela met different forms of electronic music, classical music met with trap and Latin genres met with various forms of contemporary pop and rock. Everyone was invited to their city's festival, going to a selection of natural spaces in the city at the time when the summer sun begins to set.
