Pedro Portellano is a curator and musician whose work explores the intersections between music, sound, and visual arts. He holds a degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Contemporary Art History and Visual Culture. He has developed musical programs for numerous institutions and festivals such as Reina Sofia Museum, Veranos de la Villa, Centro Conde Duque, and Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, among others.He was part of the team for the Madrid edition of the Red Bull Music Academy, serving as a project manager and curator for institutional events. Additionally, he served as the director of the Nave de Música de Matadero Madrid, a space managed by Red Bull dedicated to all aspects of musical creation.
During his time in Berlin, he worked at Studio Tomas Saraceno as the studio coordinator for the environmental art project Aerocene. Upon returning to Madrid, he founded the RAYO audiovisual festival at Cineteca Madrid. Currently, he works as a curator and booking agent for the Madrid theater Teatro Eslava, and he serves as a curator for the annual concert series Tardes Thyssen at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.
In the realm of education, he has developed projects such as the Sound It Yourself music workshops at various cultural institutions in Madrid and the masterclass series for the Suena Conde Duque program at the Conde Duque cultural center in Madrid. He has also been an associate professor in the Arts Degree at the Open University of Catalonia.
As a composer and producer, he has created music and sound design for advertising, film, and installations, collaborating with companies, studios, and artists such as ZARA, & Walsh, IKEA, Acciona, Repsol, TAVO, Pleid, Luis Urculo, Osama Chami and Lux Studio. Additionally, he has released several albums under his stage name Bruma.
